The Deer Park Police Department Chaplain Program has been active since August 26, 2014.
They currently have nine active Chaplains.  Six of the Chaplains are Pastors of local churches, one is a deacon and two are in ministry at a local church in Deer Park.  They are paired up and operate on a rotating call out system. They are all ordained.  They are all volunteers.  They are the Ministry of Presence for the Officers, Tele-communicators and staff  of the Police Department and the Community.  Their love for the PD and the community led them to choose I Thessalonians 2:8 as their Chaplain scripture.  "So affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had  become dear to us." Being available to minister to the Officers is their main objective, but they also serve along side the Officers when needed in death notifications, accidents, suicides, jail calls and hospital visits.  They are there to offer physical and emotional support when needed.
